SQUAD, INC. HISTORY
Jump 4 Joy Squad, Inc. started in the summer of 2007, with a vison from the Lord. LaKenya Bosby & Phantasia Terrell started the ministry with 4 children participating. Jump 4 Joy was the original name and began as an Outreach Ministry of Mount Moriah teaching children scriptures about Christ and jumping rope. In 2014, Jump 4 Joy became its own ministry and in 2016 was renamed Jump 4 Joy Squad, Inc. Jump 4 Joy Squad, Inc. still teaches children about Christ and jumping rope at Trinity Lutheran Church, and Western Avenue Community Center on Saturdays. Jump 4 Joy Squad, Inc. also teaches after school classes through Bloomington Parks & Rec (course 19054 or 19055), and many other organizations.
Jump 4 Joy Squad, Inc. serves as a ministry that keeps children moving and having fun while learning about God. Jump 4 Joy Squad, Inc offer classes three times a year (fall, spring, and summer). After the spring and fall classes, there is a show for families, friends, and the community. After the summer classes, students have the opportunity to participate in the Labor Day Parade in downtown Bloomington or Illinois State University Homecoming parade.
Jump 4 Joy Squad, Inc. started a team in 2014 and currently have 10 children participating on the team. They practice in the winter/spring and have traveled to Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. In 2018, the Jump 4 Joy Squad, Inc team was name Joy Jumpers and made their first appearance at the National level.
